Luís Cordeiro-Rodrigues is a full professor and a Yuelu Morning Star Scholar A at the Department of Philosophy, Yuelu Academy, Hunan University. He has a PhD and an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of York and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Lisbon. Before coming to Hunan University, he worked at the University of York (UK), University of Fort Hare (South Africa) and Sun Yat-sen University (China). He has published 4 edited books and over 60 articles in leading journals in applied ethics (Bioethics, Journal of Value Inquiry, Journal of Medical Ethics, etc.), political philosophy (Social Theory & Practice, Philosophy & Social Criticism, etc.), ethnic studies (Ethnicities, African Studies, Philosophia Africana) and philosophy of religion (Religious Studies, European Journal for Philosophy of Religion). In 2021, one of his articles has been listed by Oxford University Press as the 'best of philosophy'. He is interested in supervising students in applied ethics, comparative philosophy, Western philosophy, African philosophy and ethnic studies. In his free time, he likes to do sports, read books and learning Chinese.

Luís Cordeiro-Rodrigues现任湖南大学新葡的京集团3512vip(中国)-SouGou百科哲学系教授及岳麓学者晨星A岗。他拥有英国约克大学政治哲学经济硕士学位与博士学位、里斯本大学哲学学士学位。在入职湖南大学之前，他曾就职于英国约克大学、南非黑尔堡大学和中国中山大学。他已经出版了4本编著，并于多个哲学领域的顶级刊物发表了60余篇学术论文，包括但不限于应用伦理学顶刊（Bioethics、Journal of Value Inquiry、Journal of Medical Ethics, etc等)， 政治哲学顶刊(Social Theory & Practice、Philosophy & Social Criticism等)，种族研究顶刊(Ethnicities、African Studies、Philosophia Africana) 与宗教学研究顶刊 (Religious Studies、European Journal for Philosophy of Religion)。2021年，他的一篇论文被牛津大学出版社授予“最佳哲学”称号。他作为硕士生和博士生导师，指导方向包括应用伦理学、比较哲学、西方哲学、非洲哲学和伦理学等领域，他对指导学生在这些领域的学习和研究抱有很高的热情。在他的空余时间，他喜欢运动、读书和学习中文。
